The number one desire of all people in every situation of life-global or personal-is for power. Power is the ability to influence and control circumstances.

Power is the principle issue of humanity. People may not express it in exactly that way, but ultimately they desire the ability to manage and shape their circumstances, reverse personal and family setbacks, and build a better life for themselves. This is why a person who wants to be a millionaire is not really seeking money. He’s seeking power. He wants the capacity to control what he eats, where he lives, what he drives, and how he will conduct his life.
